Disposable ECMO Membrane Oxygenator

The membrane oxygenator is where gas exchange happens — adding oxygen and removing carbon dioxide from the blood outside the body. The Lifemotion disposable ECMO membrane oxygenator (model LM-BGEA-1000, ARTG 528771) is engineered for stable performance across the extended runs that extracorporeal support demands.

PMP hollow-fibre gas exchange

The oxygenator uses a polymethylpentene (PMP) hollow-fibre membrane for gas transfer — a well-established membrane technology for extracorporeal life support — paired with a PET heat exchanger for temperature management, so oxygenation and patient warming are handled in one device.

Phosphorylcholine-coated blood path

Blood-contacting surfaces carry a phosphorylcholine (PC) coating, a biomimetic surface technology intended to support haemocompatibility during extended circulation. The same coating runs through the pump head and ECMO sets, giving a consistent blood-contact surface across the whole circuit.

Built for long-run stability

Low resistance and stable gas-transfer performance over extended runs matter more in a real ECMO course — and on a long inter-hospital transfer — than in a short bench test. One coordinated circuit

The oxygenator is designed to work as part of a single continuous circuit with the Lifemotion console, centrifugal pump head and ECMO sets — reducing the connection points and sourcing complexity of a mixed-vendor circuit.
