Portable ECMO for retrieval and transport

One circuit, every leg of the transfer
The central risk in transport ECMO is discontinuity. Each time a circuit is broken, re-primed or reconfigured, the patient is exposed and the team's workload rises. Lifemotion is designed to reconfigure from a complete trolley-based platform down to a compact, self-contained transport core using the same continuous circuit — so the system that leaves the referring ICU is the system that arrives at the destination.
Built for the road, the ambulance and the aircraft
The transport configuration pairs a portable, self-contained console with dual-battery designs and the ability to charge from vehicle and aircraft power. A lightweight carbon-fibre support frame turns the pump driver, battery and disposables into a mobile core, and a dedicated transport backpack and carrier system — developed with Starmed GmbH — mount securely to stretchers, ambulances and aircraft. What travels with the patient
The same clinically capable components move with the patient: the Lifemotion console for control and monitoring, the membrane oxygenator for gas exchange, a low-priming-volume centrifugal pump head, and the integrated ECMO circuit. Blood-contacting surfaces carry a phosphorylcholine coating intended to support haemocompatibility during extended circulation.
